So far 2012 is just flying by!
December was a crazy month. Birthdays, Christmas parties, Gift shopping, Gift Wrapping, Holiday Baking, Family parties, oy the list goes on and on. Christmas is always a struggle for me in the gift department. I struggle with what I can buy or make for people versus what I want to buy or make for people. Usually that spectrum is vast. This year I decided that all my gifts to my Aunts/Uncles/Cousins would be completely homemade. I did homemade ornaments, homemade Vanilla Extract, and homemade caramel sauce. I really loved making all of these things for everyone.
New Years Eve was fairly uneventful as usual for me. I cooked a feast for dinner and we enjoyed Sea Scallops, Salmon & Mussels. All were delicious.
January was spent enjoying a very mild Michigan winter…many 45+ degree days, ok. We also were putting the finishing touches on our upcoming February vacation. We’ll be DRIVING to Florida this year for a 6 night Royal Caribbean cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. The days can’t go by fast enough!
I am glad that “winter” hasn’t been so horrible this year. I tend to get a little seasonal depression which hasn’t been nearly as bad this year as in past. It is still hitting me a little. My other medical issues haven’t been helping my mood at all either. I’m still many steps away from good health. I’m so happy to have a doctor who isn’t giving up.
