I just had to share this awesome restaurant find with EVERYONE!

Last weekend I had dinner at The Emory ( www.theemory.com ) in Ferndale, MI…WOW.  Their menu is basic but far from bland.  They only have Salads, Sandwiches/Burgers, Pizza & Sides but again WOW!  They use fresh ingredients, local beef, local bakery for their breads, and the decor in minimalistic but very eye catching and cool at the same time.  Great selection of beers/drinks.  This is definitely the come casual or dressed up kind of place and you’ll fit in.

We were a foursome that night and around the table it we ordered the following:

I had the Mushroom Swiss burger and it was great.  HUGE 1/2lb burger piled with Mushrooms.  HUGE order of almost shoestring style fries…AWESOME!

Lori ordered the 4 Sliders off of the appetizers menu and an order of fries.  She said they were great!

Mark ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad…great portion and very fresh lettuce and toppings.

Angela ordered the Tomato Basil Pizza.  This is not served on a traditional pizza crust and that made it even better!  Served on what is describes as ”thick bruschetta style”.

The 4 of us ordered 2 desserts the Vanilla Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate Sauce and the Coconut Custard.
The Ice Cream was great, the chocolate sauce was a little on the thin side but tasted great.  3 huge scoops of ice cream!  The coconut custard was just a little odd texture wise but still had good flavor.  The custard had shaved coconut in it so between the gelatin like texture of the custard and the coconut, it left us kind of debating the greatness of this dessert.

Either way if you’re looking for a great place to eat you have to give Emory’s a try.  Our entire bill for all the food above and 4 cokes was $52…not bad for 4 people on a Saturday night – we left STUFFED!  We all said there was no way we’d finish all the food that came to us but there really weren’t many crumbs left!
